Cookie Policy
Version 1, effective
What we use cookies for
Strictly necessary. TypingRat sets a session cookie when you sign in. It is HTTP-only, which means scripts cannot read it, and it is required for the site to know you are signed in. We also set an anti-forgery cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery, and a first-party anonymous identifier so results from before you registered can be kept.
These cannot be disabled, because the site cannot function without them.
Preferences. Your theme choice and typing settings are stored so the site looks and behaves the way you left it.
Advertising. For visitors who see ads, Google AdSense may set cookies to measure and personalise advertising. Where consent is required by law, these are not set until you have given it, and you can change your choice at any time.
Paid accounts with ad-free access load no advertising scripts, so no advertising cookies are set for them.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in. You can change your advertising consent at any time from the link in the site footer.
